The Conference

The Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is one of Canada’s largest student-run conferences, taking place at the University of British Columbia every January. Through a series of inspiring speakers and interactive workshops, delegates are provided with resources to help them develop as leaders to thrive within the campus community.

Mission Statement

The Student Leadership Conference (SLC) will facilitate a collaborative and inclusive educational environment, which will inspire the campus community, provide valuable peer-to-peer learning experiences, and engage students as they share and develop their leadership skills effectively. The SLC will provide delegates the means to expand their individual leadership potential as well as avenues to apply those skills, on individual and group levels, within the global community while embodying social, economical, and environmentally sustainable practices.

Best of SLC Awards

Learning happens both from those who are participating in the workshop, but also by those who are delivering it.

AlumniUBC and the Student Leadership Conference Planning Committee are excited to recognize the outstanding contribution by over 100 workshop presenters in the form of the “Best of the SLC…” Awards. As selected by delegates, awards recipients will be announced at the closing plenary session in the Chan Centre following the keynote speaker.
