What Go Global can help with

Go Global programs let UBC students travel abroad to study, conduct research, or take a course overseas with UBC students and professors.

Go Global offers the following programs:

  • Virtual Go Global programs
    Have an international experience from home while exploring a specific topic or studying with a prestigious partner university.
  • Exchange programs
    See the list of universities that offer opportunities for you to travel and study in a different country in 2022/23 Winter Term 1 and 2.
  • Global experiences
    Foster your global understanding by taking a course, conducting research, or participating for a term during summer or winter.

Go Global's Vancouver campus office reopens on Tuesday, September 7. Until then, you can contact Go Global by email, phone, or virtually through Zoom.

Booking an advising appointment

If you need to book an advising appointment, please complete the online request form. Appointments will be held through Zoom or by phone.

Appointments can be scheduled between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm PT from Monday to Friday. If you require an appointment outside of these hours, contact Go Global and they will do their best to accommodate. Appointments outside of regular hours can only be accommodated virtually.

Drop-in advising hours

Starting Tuesday, Sep 7, Go Global will offer in-person drop-in advising at the UBC Life Building during the times below:

  • Tuesday: 1:00 - 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Go Global 101 - Group Advising Sessions (Virtual) Every Friday

Go Global offers group advising online on Fridays at 12:00 pm. Sign-up for Group Advising to learn more about the main Go Global program areas, meet a Go Global Advisor and meet other students interested in Go Global.

When emailing Go Global

If you have a question, contact go.global@ubc.ca and be sure to include all of the following in your email:

  • Add your UBC student number in the subject line
  • Sign off with your full name
  • Indicate what category of student you are

If you are a current UBC student, and you’re interested in Go Global programs, include some relevant information like the type of program or region of the world you’re interested in. 

If you are an outbound UBC student, and you’re participating in a Go Global program, please mention the name of the program or host university you’re matched to. 

If you’re an incoming student from another university, please mention the name of your home university and which category of student you are (exchange, VIRS, Tec de Monterrey).
