The Scholars Community hosts unique events and opportunities throughout the year, which are designed to meet your specific needs as a group.
Here are some examples:
Scholars Community Mentorship Program
Be matched with and mentored by an upper-year scholar who can orient you to the campus, UBC culture, and helpful resources. A friendly face from day one, your mentor is there to help you make the most of your UBC experience!
Scholars Advisory Council
Enhance your leadership skills, gain experience in providing feedback, and learn about student development by joining the Scholars Advisory Council. The Council meets on a monthly basis to provide vital feedback on Scholars Community programming.
Scholars Community Lecture Series
Being a scholar is more than just getting good grades. Attend unique lectures and info sessions that will help you stand out in interviews, prepare for prestigious awards and scholarships, and balance academic responsibilities and personal passions. Learn what graduate programs look for in candidates and what it’s like to work in a particular profession, such as medicine. Hear firsthand from subject matter experts, faculty members, and UBC alumni as they share their knowledge, insights, and experience.
Connect with scholars at games nights, networking socials, and study lounges, and meet new and like-minded friends.
