Commonwealth of Learning [FULL]

About the project

We will be creating a 5-8 minute video outlining the journey of three young men from Guyana who have returned to education after a departure from school. This video will outline the challenges that these young men have faced in the formal education and share their inspirational story on how they overcame those challenges and what inspired them to return to return to formal schooling.
This project will be used primarily for the Commonwealth of Learning’s (COL) stakeholder engagement purposes. Through this video, we would like to celebrate the achievements of these Guyanese men and recognize them for their triumphs. We hope that this video will also inspire other young men who face similar challenges in Guyana.

Finally, this video will serve as an artefact for both the Guyanese young men and the UBC students to include in their professional portfolios. The Guyanese young men will have a video to use as a resource in their work with at risk students and the UBC students will have evidence of their engagement and contribution to the project.
