About the project

Special Olympics BC is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport. The Project and Outreach Student Coordinators will work collaboratively as a team to develop and design new materials highlighting the Active Start and FUNdamentals Programs. Both of these programs intend to help young athletes develop basic movement skills and transition to basic sport skills while maintaining an atmosphere of fun and meaningful interaction! This position will open hearts and minds towards people with intellectual disabilities, and students will learn how to create inclusive communities.


Programming Dates
Kick-off Orientation Saturday, February 8 from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Tuesday, February 18 from 10:00 am– 3:00 pm

Wednesday, February 19 from 9:00 am– 3:00 pm

Thursday, February 20 from 10:00 am– 2:00 pm

What you will do

  • Design and develop new marketing materials, including posters and flyers, for Active Start and FUNdamentals Programs using Canva
  • Be a subject matter expert in the Active Start and FUNdamentals Programs
  • Create promotional posters to capture the eyes of parents to enroll their kids within the programs
  • Distribute newly created materials to community partners/elementary schools across the Lower Mainland


  • Enthusiasm and interest in engaging with community partners
  • Organizational, planning, and management skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with design and marketing is an asset
  • Knowledge of a second language is an asset

Travel to communities across the Lower Mainland may be required.
