About the school

Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House is a multi-service community organization operating in East Vancouver for over 50 years. Our dedicated staff team consists of 60 full and part time employees who work from our main location at 2131 Renfrew Street and our three off-site locations servicing employment programs for multi-barriered youth, childcare for 200 children, family resource programs, support for immigrant youth, seniors groups, and community events. We are committed to building our community through encouraging citizen engagement, skill development, self-reliance, and by providing a place to feel a sense of belonging and support. What you'll do

Placement 1: Communications Project Support [FULL]

  • Assist with planning conferences throughout BC
  • Assist with compiling statistical reports 
  • Assist with creating and publishing newsletters 
  • Learn about training opportunities through the Public Health Agency of Canada 

Location: Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House, 2131 Renfrew St., Vancouver,  BC  

Placement 2: Youth Employment Programs Support

  • Provide 1:1 support to youth accessing resource room 
  • Assist youth with job searches, housing searching, completing application forms, etc. 
  • Update community resources boards 

Location: Drive Youth Employment Services, 2106 Commercial Dr., Vancouver BC

Placement 3: High School Programs Support 

  • Provide a physically and emotionally safe environment for all program participants, staff and volunteers
  • Assist the Coordinator in facilitating programs at Vancouver Technical Secondary School
  • Plan and organize community events and out-trips
  • Assist youth completing applications for scholarships and bursaries 

Location: Van Tech Secondary School, 2600 East Broadway, Vancouver,  BC

  • Interview with supervisor of program you would like to work in, including a site tour and orientation


Youth programs:

  • Interest/experience working with youth ages 16-30
  • Knowledge of youth socio-emotional development
  • Education in mental health, wellness, mindfulness

Communications project:

  • Organizational skills
  • Computer skills
  • Interest in conference planning
