Université de Lausanne - SUR Program

Biology and Medical Sciences

About the program

Program dates: 8 weeks from July to August

The SUR Programme at Université de Lausanne hosts about 20 students from around the world to perform cutting-edge research projects within one of the host laboratories of the UNIL Faculty of Biology and Medicine. Students spend time in a laboratory setting, engaging with faculty members on research topics as well as academic activities. Students have the opportunity to attend career guidance workshops in academia and take part in a number of social and cultural activities. At the end of the summer, students present the results of their research on a poster during a joint UNIL/EPFL Symposium and write a final report.

Further details on the program can be found on the SUR website.

How to apply

All structured research abroad programs involve two parts: applying to Go Global to request nomination and submitting an application to the partner university.

Go Global reviews all applications for nomination on a rolling basis and encourages students to submit their Go Global applications as soon as possible

1. Review the project list or available labs on the partner website to ensure there is a project or lab you are interested in

2. Apply to register your interest with Go Global online. Students can apply to up to 3 programs on one application and are asked to submit a brief statement of interest.

3. Go Global will update your online application within 2 weeks of submission with detailed instructions on how to submit your partner application and your UBC transcript.

 4. Each partner application may request different supporting documents. Prepare to have the following documents ready to include with your partner application:

  • Official transcript (provided by Go Global)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation Letter
  • Two recommendation letters from UBC Faculty members using the UNIL Sur Template found here.

5. Once you've collected all documents, please submit to Go Global to submit on your behalf.
