Health and Wellbeing

Student Health Service

Student Health Services is open and operating regular hours. Appointments can be booked by calling 604 822 7011 or booked online.

B.C. has declared a state of emergency and a public health emergency – as such, Student Health Service is following public health directives and is moving away from in-person appointments where possible.

You can arrange a virtual (video) appointment or phone appointment. A virtual appointment can be arranged for physical health or mental health concerns, sports medicine, nursing appointments, and referrals to specialists. A follow-up appointment will be arranged in-person if needed.

If you already have a scheduled appointment, Student Health Service will contact you directly to see if your appointment can be over the phone or be conducted virtually.

Counselling Services

All Counselling Services appointments are now being offered by phone. Please call 604 822 3811 to schedule a phone appointment. You can also book phone, video, or e-counselling with Empower Me, free for UBC students.

Please note that intensive group programs have been suspended until further notice.

If you need help in coping with feelings around the current outbreak of COVID-19, there are online and phone resources available. Find articles and information that will guide you in managing your mental health.

Group counselling

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all in-person intensive group programs have been suspended until further notice.

See online group counselling programs available for you during the COVID-19 outbreak. You do not need a referral to join any of the programs.

Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre welcomes you online! Access up-to-date health education and information, learn more about health-related resources on and off campus, access tips and strategies for your wellbeing as a student, and hear from the experiences of your peers.

While the physical Wellness Centre is temporarily closed during the COVID-19 outbreak, Wellness Centre: Online is a Canvas space for engaging in topics relevant to your wellbeing, wherever you are. All UBC students can self-enroll using this link: https://canvas.ubc.ca/enroll/PCNEN4.

Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO)
