Harry and Hilda SMITH Foundation Scholarship

Scholarships totalling $350 have been endowed by the Harry and Hilda Smith Foundation. The late Harry Smith was a pioneer in the wholesale book business in Vancouver, having opened the first such facility in the city in 1933. He had a life-long interest in books which was continued by his late wife Hilda. The scholarships are made on the recommendation of the Department of Creative Writing to students, graduate or undergraduate, on the basis of ability in Creative Writing and of financial need.
