Robert and Kazuko BARKER Award

Awards totalling $19,100 have been endowed by former students and colleagues to honour Dr. Robert Barker and his wife, Kazuko. Dr. Barker is a UBC alumnus (B.A.1952, M.A. 1953) and a well-respected Professor and Provost Emeritus at Cornell University. The awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculties of Arts ($9,550) and Science ($9,550) to assist students with expenses including but not limited to unexpected educational or personal expenses incurred by the student, travel costs and registration fees for attending conferences, supplies and equipment relevant to their programs, research costs, etc. Income from the fund is split equally between the two faculties.
