Leonard S. KLINCK Prize in Agriculture

A prize of $950 is available through an endowment established by Dean Emeritus Blythe Eagles and Mrs. Eagles in memory of Dr. Leonard Sylvanus Klinck. This award is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the appointment of Leonard S. Klinck as Dean of Agriculture, May 11, 1974. A tribute to his leadership as first Dean of the Faculty (1914-1919), and in appreciation of his role as President of the University, his integration and coordination of the work of departments, schools and faculties. He was devoted to education in the broadest sense and worked to enhance UBC's reputation beyond campus. It is awarded to a student who is in the final year of any Faculty other than Agricultural Sciences and who maintains an average of at least 75% and who has achieved the highest standing in at least 6 credits, with preference given to 12 credits in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. This prize is one of a series of awards designated as the Agricultural Sciences Founding Faculty Prizes, established to honour those responsible for the organization and development of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UBC. Recommendations made by the Faculty of Land & Food Systems.
