Christina and Alan EASTWOOD Scholarship in Land and Food Systems

Award descriptionScholarships totalling $8750 have been made available through an endowment established by Christina and Alan Eastwood for a student in the 3rd year of undergraduate studies in Land and Food Systems with an interest in sustainable food systems. Christina and Alan are now retired from careers as a medical technologist and an economist respectively, and have decades of experience in growing food organically for themselves and friends. They have long recognized the need for a more organic, less toxic, commercial food system. They hope this award will encourage young people to pursue sustainable alternatives to conventional agriculture. The scholarships are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems.
