Student loans are offered by the Canadian and US governments to help students pay for their post-secondary education.
If you're a dual Canadian or American citizen, you may also be eligible to apply for Canada Student Loans through your home province.
If you have any residency affiliation through you or your parents to the province of Ontario, there may be an exception. Please contact your Enrolment Services Advisor for more information.
Eligibility for student loans is based on many factors, including:
Loans for full-time students from BC
If you are a BC resident in UBC undergraduate or graduate studies, you may be eligible for a government student loan.
Loans for part-time students from BC
Part-time students who live in BC may be eligible for a government student loan.
Loans for full-time students from other provinces
If you're from a province or territory other than BC, you can apply to receive government student loan assistance.
Loans for part-time students from other provinces
UBC students from a province or territory other than BC can apply for funding if they are in part-time studies.
Funding for US Students
UBC students from the US can access Direct Loans.
