Located at 5955 University Boulevard, the Gateway building brings together Student Health and Wellbeing services under one roof, making it easier for UBC students to access the care they need.
New at Gateway
If you’re a registered UBC student, you can now access integrated medical and mental health care on the third floor of the new Gateway building.
With Student Health and Wellbeing offering mental health and medical care at Gateway, you can expect the following:
- One centralized intake desk
- One phone number
- Consistent opening hours
- A smoother, more coordinated care experience
Location closures
As part of this change:
- Counselling Services locations in Brock Hall and the Counselling Annex are permanently closed.
- The Orchard Commons Student Health Services clinic has moved to Gateway.
Services that remain unchanged
- The Koerner Pavilion Student Health Service clinic remains open for medical services.
- The Wellness Centre location in the UBC Life Building remains open, with updated services designed to work alongside the Student Wellness Hub at Gateway.
What else is in the Gateway building?
Gateway shares the space with the School of Kinesiology, School of Nursing, the Faculty of Arts, and the provincially-funded Gateway Team-Based Care Teaching Clinic.
Student Health and Wellbeing is the first service available to students. Other parts of the building will slowly open throughout 2026.
