Welcome back to campus! Hope you had a restful winter break. It’s the start of a new year and if you're keen to experience more of campus life this term, here are some events to try out this week.

Purple & Yellow Volunteer Night @ The Bike Kitchen

Why you should go

Free pizza! Along with that, you’ll get to learn how to fix up bikes and meet some cool people.

DETAILS

Anyone is welcome to drop in and learn about bike mechanics. Experienced volunteers and a Bike Kitchen mechanic will be there to guide you with fixing up bikes from the campus Purple and Yellow Bike Share. You can even earn your own bike share membership after a couple of hours of volunteering!

Ice Drop-In: Public Skating

Why you should go

Take advantage of the rink on campus and enjoy a couple of hours on the ice with some friends.

DETAILS

Lace up those skates and head onto the ice in Thunderbird Arena for a fun way to get active with friends. And if you’re new to skating or want to try hockey, this is the perfect place to start.

UBC Boxing Charity Exhibition

Why you should go

Whether you’re new to boxing or an avid fan, there’ll be something fun to do at this boxing extravaganza.

DETAILS

Come watch the UBC Boxing Execs compete and showcase their technique and agility in a tournament. There'll be free snacks, mini-games with prizes - and a chance to test your own skills! And all proceeds from the event will go towards Eastside Boxing’s Youth Program.

Why you should go

Kickstart your UBC school spirit by coming out to this game and cheering on your T-Birds!

Watch the UBC Thunderbirds go head to head with University of Manitoba’s Bisons for the first time in 2018. Both the women’s and men’s games will be taking place on the same night so you can catch both!
