New campus eats

Let’s be honest. Food is an important part of your day - especially as a student who needs to stay properly fuelled for everything university life throws at you. Luckily, UBC has you covered.

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack between classes, a hearty lunch, or somewhere to gather after class with friends, there are more places than ever to grab a bite at UBC. Here are just a few new additions to add to your UBC dining repertoire:

Pacific Poké

Pacific Poke

Expanding from their Main Street location, Pacific Poké is opening a second location in the Computer Science building on Agronomy Road between East Mall and Main Mall this September. Poké might originate from Hawaii, but Pacific Poké is constantly creating unique flavour combinations while keeping true to the style of this popular cuisine. Our chefs serve the tastiest, most innovative poké from right here on the West Coast. Pacific Poké will satisfy your craving for clean, wholesome food packed with bold flavours.

Harvest Express

Harvest

More goodness on the go! After a successful first few years in Ponderosa, a new Harvest location is opening in Trek where Qoola used to be. This location will focus on grab and go items from the Harvest line like salads, sandwiches, fruit and veggies, snacks, and desserts. Harvest goods are also stashed at UBC Food Services locations across campus. See the full list.

Hero Coffee + Market

Hero

UBC’s bold, new, and intrepid fueling station opened part way through last spring. Located in the commonsblock at Orchard Commons, Hero Coffee + Market serves espresso beverages, pour-over coffee, tea, hot chocolate, pastries, smoothies, and a whole lot more. The pastries – including a rotating selection of financiers, dessert parfaits, and other coffee shop staples – are made in house by a team of passionate pastry chefs. Plus, they sell A Bread Affair croissants and Cartems Donuterie donuts!

Gather at Place Vanier

Gather

Place Vanier’s dining room got a major facelift over the summer. Where else can you find handmade burgers, Vij’s Indian cuisine, Latin American street food, sushi burritos, a vegetarian/vegan station, and an awesome salad bar all in one place? Gather serves up fresh, healthy, West Coast contemporary cuisine and is open to the public.

Open Kitchen

Open Kitchen

If you haven’t yet checked out the dining room in Orchard Commons, you’re in for a treat. From international comfort foods to custom stir fries, vegetarian entrees and more, Open Kitchen represents the best of Vancouver’s diverse culinary scene. Plus, they’re open till 9 pm every day!

Whatever it is you may be craving, you will be able to find it on campus. There’s never been a better time to be hungry at UBC.
