VIFF Ignite: The World Is Bright

Enjoy local cinematography and get to know the story behind the film from the people who made it.

VIFF Ignite is a free campus screening series that inspires university students by showcasing outstanding BC cinema. This screening presents "The World Is Bright", a docu-thriller style short that tugs on your emotions to truly immerse you in the film. There will also be a Q&A with the director and other members of the team following the screening. More info.

Share your thoughts and opinions in person at the Vancouver campus in a safe and respectful space. Gather with students, faculty, staff, and the broader UBC community to learn, engage, and discuss bold actions that UBC can take to combat the climate emergency. This is a drop-in style event with the featured speaker talking in the first hour. More info.

IGNITE is an ongoing series of engagements with racialized authors at UBC’s Vancouver campus. Hosted by Shirin Eshghi, Head of the UBC Asian Library, this is an opportunity to hear one of Canada’s leading authors reflect on her lived experiences and signature works. The event is free but registration is required as space is limited.

Storm The Wall Registration Deadline

Why you should go

An iconic UBC experience; register before it’s too late!

DETAILS

Participate in one of UBC’s most iconic annual experiences, where students swim, sprint, bike, run, and get over a 12-foot wall. You can complete the course as a relay in a competitive or just-for-fun team, or do the whole course on your own as an Iron Person. This is a chance to challenge yourself and try something new before the school year ends. Make sure to register by March 13 at 5:00 pm!

  • Price: $60 per team of 5, or $25 as an iron person
