It’s a part of UBC's Equity & Inclusion Office’s Through the Lens workshop series, which explores how different identities navigate and experience UBC. Light refreshments will also be provided.

14 Not Forgotten

Join others in remembering 14 women who lost their lives due to gender violence.
DETAILS
On December 6, 1989, an armed man walked into an engineering class at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. After forcing the men to leave, he stated that he was “fighting feminism” and began to shoot the women in the class. By the end of the shooting, he had killed 14 women and injured 10 more. In response to this tragedy. UBC hosts this event to not only remember these women but also shine light on the continuous battle against gender violence.
