Krav Maga x UBC Pilates Collaboration

Why you should go

Learn how to defend yourself and be a pilates pro.

DETAILS

This full-body workout features a full hour of Krav Maga (a method of self defence) followed by a 20-minute session of POP Pilates! Plus, the whole session is free, so you can try two new forms of exercise and find what works for you!

Career Days

Why you should go

If you’re wondering about your post-graduation options, this event will allow you to connect with a wide range of employers.

DETAILS

Career Days will feature approximately 100 employers attending over a two-day period. If you have a particular employer you want to talk to, you can check out the list of attendees at the list below. And, if you’re not really sure of the options out there, come with an open mind! The Centre for Student Involvement & Careers has also prepped some resources to help you before and after the event.

Hint: Dress work-casual. This is a networking event after all, so you’ll want to make a good impression…and apparently sweatpants are “unprofessional”.

A National Plastics Pollution Strategy for Canada

Why you should go

If you’re concerned about plastic pollution in Canada, come hear about some possible solutions.

DETAILS

There’s been a lot of talk about reducing plastic use in the last year. From UBC discontinuing the use of plastic utensils and straws to Vancouver banning plastic straws in 2019, it’s clear that people are thinking about these issues. But is it enough? This panel will discuss what’s happening today, what needs to happen in the future, and what the most promising approaches to tackling plastic pollution are.

Pumpkin Run

Why you should go

You can challenge yourself to run it alone, or run it as a relay!

DETAILS

Fall is hands down the best time of the year for running. The annual Pumpkin Run features a 6 km individual or team race, plus a 2 km short run if that’s more your thing! There will be food and gifts at the finish line, and prizes for competitive folks. Registration ends October 15, but if you miss it this year you can still come out to cheer on your peers!

World’s Challenge Challenge: Info Session

Why you should go
