Attend orientation

Whether you’re new to university life, or are continuing your university career, attending orientations will afford you the opportunity to meet people, learn about your new academic environment and what it means to be a scholar in your area of study.

Undergraduate students

First-year students 

Jump Start

Jump Start (August 25-31, 2018) is your official welcome to life at UBC. This multi-day orientation program is designed to introduce you to the University, your faculty, and new friends. Learn more and register here.

Imagine UBC

Can't attend Jump Start? Don't worry - your UBC orientation will begin at Imagine UBC (September 4, 2018). You'll have a chance to make friends and meet your Dean, professors, and senior students from your Faculty. You can expect an email with your Imagine UBC schedule in late August.

Transfer students At Imagine UBC (Septemer 4, 2018) you'll have a chance to make friends and meet your Dean, professors, and other students from your Faculty. You can expect an email with your Imagine UBC schedule in late August. Learn more.

First-year international students (starting in January)

Orientation events for international, exchange, visiting international research and Tec de Monterrey students take in the first few days of the term in January. You will have received an invitation to register for the orientation event from an advisor specific to your program. Contact go.global@ubc.ca if you haven't received an invitation to register for orientation in January.

First-year international students (starting in May)

Orientation will take place on the first day of classes. Stay tuned for details.

Aboriginal Students
