Registration deposit for continuing students
All continuing students must pay a non-refundable registration deposit of $100.00 each academic session before being able to register. This deposit is credited towards assessed tuition fees.
Tuition fees are assessed on a per-credit basis and depend on the level of the course and the faculty in which it is offered.
Most undergraduate courses are 3 or 6 credits, with some exceptions. You can check the course schedule for specific course information such as how many credits it is, when and where it is offered, and who the course instructor is.
Student fees are assessed based upon field of study with a small portion distributed on a pre-credit basis.
Distance education fees
A $50.25 administrative fee per course applies in addition to tuition for that course. Students taking distance education courses-only are not assessed for further student fees.
You may also be assessed a special invigilation and outside examination centre fee (usually $40) where examinations are permitted at a location not normally set up for UBC examinations, payable with the examination application
Expect to pay about $100-$150 per course for course materials. Course materials are available through the UBC Bookstore.
Exceptions for tuition and fees – Senior citizens
BC residents 65 years of age or over who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents normally do not pay application, tuition or student fees. Fees will be assessed under the following circumstances: (a) programs within the Faculty of Dentistry, Law, Medicine and Nursing, and some programs within the Faculty of Graduate Studies; (b) distance education administrative fee per course.
