About the role
UBtheChange Student Activators create fun, low-barrier ways for UBC students to get involved with social and community issues, regardless of their background or experience.
Through events, peer advising, social media campaigns, and pop-up activities, UBtheChange Student Activators spark curiosity, build awareness, foster connections, and highlight pathways to engage in social and climate justice on and off campus.
Who can apply?
Students from all disciplines and years can apply, with preference given to students with experience in community engagement.

- Enjoys collaborating with diverse peers, campus, and community partners
- Excited to build facilitation, mentorship, and leadership skills
- Desire to learn through hands-on experiences
- Interest in about systemic injustice, power, and community strengths
- Respectful of diverse perspectives and lived experiences
- Reflective, open to feedback, and committed to growth
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks and deadlines
Time commitment
The time commitment for the role is approximately 5 hours per week, including mandatory meetings on Tuesdays from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.
