Imagine UBC

On Tuesday, September 7, start imagining the possibilities!

About Imagine UBC

For most students, Imagine UBC replaces the first day of classes. You will have the chance to meet some great people including your Dean, some of your future professors, and other students. It will be an opportunity to learn about your new academic environment and the specific expectations of your faculty.

What will your day look like?

In early September, you will receive an email with your personalized Imagine UBC schedule. Here’s a sneak peek of what your schedule may look like. The experience may be fully virtual or a combination of in person and virtual, and will be confirmed with you during the summer.

Group Meet Up

Gather with your Orientation Leader and a small group of fellow new students from your faculty.

Faculty Welcome

This is your chance to meet a professor and the Dean of your faculty, before classes have even begun.

Pep Rally

Join the entire UBC student community for the virtual Pep Rally where you’ll enjoy musical performances, hear from President Santa Ono, and have a chance to celebrate your UBC school spirit.

Main Event

Join hundreds of clubs and organizations online to explore resources and opportunities available for UBC students.

No matter who you are and what you are interested in, there is something for you at Imagine UBC.

Information for returning students

Imagine UBC is an event that most UBC students don’t forget. All students are invited to participate in the day's activities. If you've never had a chance to go to Imagine UBC or you just wish you could do it all over again—this year is your chance!

UBC is working hard to ensure that your student experience this year is excellent. By attending exciting events, including the Pep Rally and departmental orientation events, you’ll be able to reconnect with the community, show your school spirit, and find opportunities to get involved. You can also visit over 350+ club booths at the Main Event, which will be held online this year.

Details about how you can participate in Imagine UBC will be emailed to you in early September. Make sure your email address is up to date in your Student Service Centre (SSC), so you can participate in this unforgettable experience.

Information for transfer students

If you are coming to UBC from another university or college, Imagine UBC is also for you!

By participating in Imagine UBC with your orientation group, meeting your faculty Deans, and virtually visiting some of the over 350+ club booths at the Main Event, you’ll be able to make little connections all day long that will help kick start your UBC experience.

Your customized schedule will be emailed to you in early September. Make the most of this day and find out what awaits you at UBC!

Imagine UBC is a great start for transfer students who are looking to make friends, and get involved at UBC. Even if you don’t meet your new UBC best friend, or find a group you’d like to get involved with, it is an easy way to meet some friendly faces, and get more familiar with the campus.
