First, inform your instructors
Once you are registered with the Centre for Accessibility, you will use the Clockwork online platform to send your Letter of Accommodation (LOA) to your instructor(s) automatically. You will have the option to download a copy of your LOA if needed. This letter should be sent to the instructor of the class that you’re seeking the accommodation for as soon as possible, preferably within the first 2 weeks of the class. You will be required to send the LOA in order to access exam booking and note taker request services.
You are not required to share information or documentation about your disability or ongoing medical condition with your instructor or any other UBC office. Your transcript will not show your registration with the Centre for Accessibility.
If your instructor or another UBC unit requires additional information about the nature of your disability or documentation, please direct them to the Centre for Accessibility.
Book your exams and tests
Please familiarize yourself with the Centre’s exam booking guidelines and instructions. We encourage you to book your exams as early as possible.
Requesting a change to your academic accommodations
If you need to request new accommodations or changes to your current ones, meet with your Accessibility Advisor as early as possible. Depending on the nature of the accommodation and the timing of the request, it may not be possible to implement the changes immediately.
