About Every Nation
Every Nation is a global family of churches that exist to honour God by establishing Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation. It lands within the orthodox evangelical protestant faith tradition. The foundational values are lordship, evangelism, discipleship, leadership, and family.
Every Nation Campus UBC
Every Nation Campus (ENC) UBC is passionate about helping students grow in their relationships with God, one another, and the world. They do this by meeting in large group settings to build a sense of community, and in small groups to pursue truth, love, and a deeper connection with God and each other, together. As a community, they do their best to walk in the way of Jesus, practice spiritual disciplines, and navigate the big questions of life from a Christian perspective, such as what is the meaning of life? Does God exist? Do all religions lead to God? Why is there evil? Is there life after death?
About Tyler Mitchell
During his undergrad, Tyler came face to face with some big existential questions, such as who am I? Who is God? How can I be loved? What is my purpose? It was a critical time for his relationship with God and Christian maturity. It was during those years he decided to take his faith seriously and was discipled by older Christian mentors. His university years were formative, which inspired him to create spaces for others to do the hard but fulfilling work of spiritual formation. He considers it his greatest privilege to walk alongside students on their journeys of faith.
As the Every Nation Chaplain, Tyler walks with students who are wanting to investigate existential and faith-centered questions, eager to learn how to read the Bible contextually, and curious to discover what apprenticeship under the person of Jesus looks like.
Additionally, he is passionate about creating spaces for students to engage with each other as they pursue spiritual formation together.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Tyler studied at Langara College and the University of British Columbia. He now holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology from UBC. He is currently serving as a full-time campus minister with Every Nation Campus and gratefully spends a majority of his time at UBC.
