About cross-campus registration
If you’re a UBC Vancouver undergraduate, you can take up to 15 credits worth of courses at the Okanagan campus. Registration and enrolment are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
UBC Vancouver graduate students can also apply for cross-campus registration through the Authorization and Course Registration Form. Graduate students should visit the UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies’ website for more information, or contact their program staff or Graduate Advisor.
If you’re transferring to the UBC Okanagan campus and switching to an Okanagan degree program, apply for a change in campus or faculty through the Applicant Service Centre (ASC).
Check your eligibility
The information below applies to undergraduate programs and courses.
To be considered for registration at the Okanagan campus, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are registered as a UBC Vancouver undergraduate student.
- You’ve completed a minimum of 24 credits with percentage grades.
- You have not failed a course in the most recent 24 credits.
- You have a minimum overall average of 68% on your most recent 24 credits.
- You’ve satisfied all the prerequisites for the course you’re requesting to take at UBC Okanagan.
How to apply
You will not be able to register for cross-campus courses by yourself. An Enrolment Services staff member at the Okanagan campus will help you complete your registration.
Faculties reserve the right to decline a request if the course is in high demand, or if the equivalent course is available at the UBC Vancouver campus in either the Summer or Winter Session.
- Download and complete the UBC Vancouver cross-campus request form (pdf). If you are a graduate student, please complete the Authorization and Course Registration Form instead.
- Submit the request form to your academic advisor for approval.
- Your academic advisor will then send the form to Enrolment Services staff at the UBC Okanagan campus, and it will be forwarded to the appropriate faculty at the Okanagan campus for review.
- You will receive an email notifying you if your request has been approved. Cross-campus registration is typically scheduled on the Visiting students registration date for Summer and Winter, respectively. You will receive a registration token and a notification that the token has been granted. You can then register in the approved course on Workday, if there is space.
- You will receive an email with your registration outcome for your requested course(s).
If you are unable to download and submit the form by email, you can print and complete it by hand and bring it to your academic advisor in person.
