Returning to UBC and applying for readmission

If you left UBC to deal with a family emergency, to focus on your health and mental well-being, academic issues, a job opportunity, or to take time away from studies, it can be hard to know where to start to return to your studies.

It’s important to start planning for your return as early as possible so you can meet different application and program-specific deadlines and apply for a study permit, housing, or other services you may need to return to your studies.

First, review your scenario

Find guidance on common return scenarios to understand what your return might look like, whether you took a leave of absence, had to withdraw, or are enrolling as a mature student or alumnus.

Next, follow the returning checklist

Once you’ve reviewed your return scenario, use the Return to UBC Checklist to help you plan your next steps.

If you need help

Contact Enrolment Services during opening hours. You do not need to have an assigned Enrolment Services Advisor to reach out.

If you are an international student, connect with International Student Advising first.
