Talk with a Career Educator

Career Educators are professional UBC staff who can discuss career options, job search strategies, grad school applications, and more with you.

Drop-in appointments

Career Educators can answer quick questions, recommend resources, or help you take the next step towards your career goals.

  • You can access virtual drop-in appointments on Mondays and Fridays in the Appointments tab on CareersOnline from 12 to 2 pm.
  • To talk to an educator in person from Tuesday to Thursday from 12 to 2 pm on the main floor of Brock Hall.

If you wish to meet with a Career Educator for a longer appointment, follow the instructions below.

Book an appointment

Book a one-on-one discussion with a Career Educator for a specific topic or to walk through your job application. In-person or virtual appointments can be scheduled for 15, 30, or 45 minutes.

  1. Log into CareersOnline as a student with your CWL. 
  2. Select “Appointments” in the top menu. 
  3. Choose “Book New Appointment”.
  4. If you have a specific date, time, advising topic, or advisor you’d like to meet, fill out the fields. Otherwise, leave the fields empty and click “Check availability”.
  5. Select your preferred appointment time and complete the information requested.

Once you have booked an appointment, you will no longer be able to see the times to book another appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call 604 822 4011 or email career.centre@ubc.ca.
