Ian WALLACE Award in Art History

An award of $5,000 is offered by the Y.P. Heung Foundation in honour of Ian Wallace (BA'66, MA'88, DLitt'10). A Vancouver-based artist, educator and art historian, Mr. Wallace is known throughout the world for his critical reflections and contributions as a pioneer in photo-conceptual art. He has served as a mentor and teacher to generations of artists, and has had a fundamental role in reinvigorating visual arts education in BC and Canada. The award is available to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student pursuing an Art History major in the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory who demonstrates volunteerism and community service. The award is made on the recommendation of the Department and, in the case of a graduate student, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
