Peter WANYENYA Memorial Graduate Award

Award descriptionAwards totaling $875 have been made available through an endowment established by the Faculty of Arts for graduate students in the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice whose research focuses on African refugees, African-Canadian/Black Canadian studies, Indigeneity and Africanity, African Migrants or Asylum seekers resettlement. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated community engagement, mentorship or advocacy within the African-Canadian/Black Canadian youth communities. The awards are made on the recommendation of the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
