Doctors of BC Presidential Scholars Award in Medicine

Award descriptionRenewable entrance awards totalling $80,000 have been made available through an endowment established by Doctors of BC, with a portion of the funds being matched from the University of British Columbia, for outstanding students entering the M.D. undergraduate program. Criteria for these entrance awards include demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in the arts, community, athletics, or school. Preference will be given to students whose community involvement or volunteerism emphasizes healthcare. Subject to continued scholarship standing, the awards will be renewed for a further three years of study or until the M.D. degree is obtained (whichever is shorter). Representing over 14,000 physicians, residents and medical students, Doctors of BC works to promote the highest standard of healthcare by providing its members with the services and support they need to enhance their professional experience. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine.
