Xue Juan Cao Memorial Scholarship in Medicine

Award descriptionScholarships totalling $2,000 have been made available annually through a gift from Anna Zhang in memory of her grandmother Xue Juan Cao (19252018) for outstanding students enrolled in the M.D. program. Preference will be given to students with an interest in working in a remote or rural community. Xue Juan Cao was born in Tianjin, China, and worked as a manager and designer at a clothing company for over thirty years. She dedicated her life to helping communities in need, donating money, clothing and food to families from rural China. Xue Juan visited UBC during a trip to Vancouver in 1992, and the campus left a lasting impression on her. The scholarships are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine.
