Louis Lipsey TOOHILL Scholarship

Scholarships totalling $5,650 have been endowed through a bequest from Louis Lipsey Toohill. The awards are made to students in the Faculty of Medicine. Where possible, preference is given to students showing an aptitude for study related to research in cancer, arthritis, and rheumatism. Mr. Toohill, from Metcalfe Township, Middlesex County, Ontario, was a successful farm machinery salesman and landowner in Saskatchewan in the early days of the twentieth century. He retired to Vancouver where he died of cancer in 1952. Consideration is given to the financial circumstances of the candidates. The awards are made on the recommendation of the Faculty.
