Bring your friends and recharge from all those midterms at the Aquatic Centre.

If you’ve got break between classes and want to de-stress, the Aquatic Centre has your back! They will be hosting various free drop-ins throughout the week, ranging from bootcamps with Britney Spears music or Friday Night Fever disco. And if fitness classes aren’t your thing...the steam rooms will also be open for those who just want to relax.

Learn all about how to protect your identity—and yourself—from potential fraud.

Identity theft and fraud can happen to anyone—and sometimes when we least expect it. This workshop will educate you on how to protect sensitive financial information and the various scams you may come across as a student. Being equipped with the right resources will help ensure that you don’t fail prey to anything harmful. Snacks will also be provided. Make sure you register by 4:00 pm on November 4 to secure your spot!

UnWind at IKB Library is a Thrive event that provides you with complimentary de-stressing and health-promoting activities and workshops, mental health information, and a soothing atmosphere. Escape the stress for a bit and enjoy some peace and calmness, with board games, drinks, and snacks, plus yoga and meditation sessions.

UBC Tennis Smash

Why you should go

Get the chance to show off your tennis skills and see where you stand against the competition. 

DETAILS

UBC Tennis Smash is back for another year and ready to take the courts by storm. Students of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, regardless if you’re the next Bianca Andreescu or Roger Federer…or not. This unique tournament will feature a modified match format where time is of the essence. Registration closes November 4 at 5:00 pm. More info.

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Why you should go

This ceremony is an opportunity to remember all those who served in times of war, military conflict, and peace.

DETAILS

2019 will mark 68 years that UBC has hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony. The ceremony will include short readings, remarks from special guests, and musical performances by the UBC Opera Ensemble. There will also be light refreshments served during and after the ceremony.
