Your residence’s Commonsblock is the central hub for residence life. It includes a range of amenities that will help you get the most out of living on campus!

Front desk

The front desk in your residence’s Commonsblock is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Front desk staff are available to answer questions or refer you to the best person to talk with. Plus, they help keep your residence safe and secure.

You can also borrow sports and games equipment from the front desk. And if you receive mail, that’s where you’ll pick it up.

Market

Each Commonsblock has a market where you can purchase study snacks, basic groceries and – in Place Vanier and Totem Park – some toiletries. You can pay for items using Flex Dollars from your Residence Meal Plan, and with cash, debit, or credit cards.

Fitness rooms

Fitness rooms are available to residents day and night, so you can get that early morning workout in.

Music practice rooms

These are here so you can practice your instruments without waking up your entire floor. Several music rooms are furnished with pianos, so no need to bring your own!

Study areas

Group and silent study areas are available for use day and night, so there’s always a quiet place to catch up on your reading – or for when you have that late-night brainstorm.

Residence activity rooms

There are ballrooms and event spaces in each Commonsblock for all the fun events you’ll be invited to throughout the year, including dances, open mics, speaker series, and the always popular residence musicals!
