Tuition refund dates

The dates below apply to most courses, but some exceptions apply. If your course has a different start or end date, or if you're unsure of the refund deadline for your course, check the Course Schedule or talk to your Enrolment Services Advisor.

Registration deposits

Your registration deposit is non-refundable and may not be transferred to another session.

Summer Session undergraduate tuition refunds

9-12 week courses and Distance Education Term A courses

Graduate tuition refunds for Term 1, Term 2, and Summer Session

Graduate programs assessed on a per course or on a per credit basis follow the refund policies of undergraduate tuition. For all other graduate programs, see the refund schedule below.

During third or fourth week of Winter Term or Summer Session 60% of the instalment
During fifth or sixth week of Winter Term or Summer Session 40% of the instalment
During seventh or eighth week of Winter Term or Summer Session 20% of the instalment
After eighth week of Winter Term or Summer Session No refund

Tuition adjustment or refund

If you have received an academic concession, you may be eligible for a tuition adjustment or refund in extraordinary and extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to medical and compassionate grounds.

Tuition adjustments or refunds are reviewed on a monthly basis by the Tuition Appeals Committee. Please allow at least 4 weeks for a decision.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible, you should meet one of the following criteria:

And all of the following:

  • Apply within one year of your course(s) academic term or session end date; AND
  • Have documentation of an extraordinary medical or personal circumstance that prevented you from attending classes or successfully completing the academic term or session. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • a doctor’s note
    • hospital records 
    • death certificate
    • letter from a registered counsellor
