About transfer credit
Types of transfer credit
High school (AP, IB, or A-level courses)
If you’ve completed university-level courses while in high school, you may be eligible for first-year credit at UBC depending on your AP, IB, or A-level final exam results. Entering UBC with first-year credit allows you to take fewer courses to complete your degree.
Post-secondary transfer credit
If you’ve completed a course at another post-secondary institution, you may be eligible to receive Specific Credit or General Credit.
Go Global exchange
UBC students can study abroad at over 150 partner universities all around the world and can transfer credit back from coursework completed at one of these institutions towards their UBC degree.
Letter of Permission
As a UBC student, faculties may grant students the permission to study outside of UBC with a Letter of Permission (LOP).
