How to access student services while learning remotely

The UBC Vancouver campus is open while the majority of programs are online until February 7. Student services will continue to be offered both in person and online to support students on campus and learning remotely.

Campus buildings, including libraries, the Nest, food establishments, residences, and more are also open. We look forward to seeing you back on campus in February!

Health and wellbeing resources

Browse resources on sleep, nutrition, managing stress, substance use, and more to support your well-being. You can also find health support services based on your needs and location.

Academic Advising

Please check the individual Faculty Advising office websites for virtual or in-person advising appointments or drop-in services.

Accessibility Shuttle

The UBC Accessibility Shuttle is available to people who have temporary or permanent conditions that impact their mobility. The shuttle will resume service on February 7.

Athletics and Recreation

Fitness centres will re-open on January 20 in response to the current Provincial Health Orders. Intramural leagues will have a delayed start date. The Aquatic Centre, Tennis Centre, ice arena, and drop-in sports remain open. UBC Recreation continues to host a number of online programs and classes to support your wellbeing.

Centre for Accessibility

The Centre for Accessibility is open and will be providing service in person, online through Zoom, or by phone.

Centre for Community Engaged Learning

Connect with the Centre for Community Engaged Learning for virtual and in-person programs with community partners, including Reading Week placements.

Centre for Student Involvement & Careers

The CSI&C is open for Career Advising and Career Peer Coach drop-ins and appointments Monday–Friday, available online or in person. All workshops and webinars will be held online for the month of January.

Counselling Services

Counselling Services is offering in-person and virtual appointments and online group counselling programs. Please call Counselling Services at 604-822-3811 to schedule an appointment, available Monday–Friday. 

Enrolment Services Advising Centre

Enrolment Services Advisors are available in person or online Monday–Friday. Visit Enrolment Services Advising Centre in Brock Hall for in-person service.

First Nations House of Learning

The First Nations Longhouse is closed until at least February 7 and programming is limited to activities that can be done remotely.

Food Services

Please check food.ubc.ca for current hours for UBC Food Services locations. 

Go Global

Go Global is offering virtual reception hours until February 4 from 9:30 am–11:30 am PST and 1 pm–3:30 pm PST through Zoom. Virtual drop-in advising is also available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Housing

Residences and dining halls are open while most classes remain online. Students with questions about their residence contracts should review Student Housing’s COVID-19 FAQ.

International Student Advising

International Student Advising is available for virtual and in-person service. See how to contact an advisor.

Libraries

Campus libraries are open. Please check library hours to plan your visit.

Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO)

SVPRO is taking in-person requests by appointment. Same-day appointments are available, but drop-ins are not recommended for COVID-19 safety reasons. Call 604-822-1588 Monday–Friday to discuss your options.

Student Health Service

Student Health Service appointments are being offered to students within British Columbia, primarily by phone and video during this time. In-person services are available when needed. The Orchard Commons Clinic is open Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm, by appointment only.

Student Recovery Community

The Student Recovery Community is holding in-person and online meetings and drop-in office hours. Follow their Instagram (@recovery_ubc) for service updates.

UBC Bookstore

The UBC Bookstore is open on campus from 10 am–5 pm, Monday–Saturday.

Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre Info Desk is open for in-person or virtual drop-ins. IBPOC Mentors and the Wellness Centre sexual health shop are operating online only.
